The famous American actor, Johnny Depp, visited Mecavnik in the company of his respected host Emir Kusturica on January the 12th. After visiting Drvengrad (Woodstown) ‘’The Pirate of the Caribbean’’ and his host Kusturica tasted Serbian traditional dishes, while Depp was extraordinary delighted with Serbian red wine… Find out what wine it was.

The American superstar Jonny Depp had the role of the main guest on Mecavnik, the Third International Film and Music Festival “Kustendorf”. He arrived in the company of his respected host Emir Kusturica, and still while stepping out the helicopter shouted: “This is fabulous! Fantastic!” After visiting Drvengrad, and watching the movie theatre ‘’The Damned Yard’’, according to many the most modern on the Balkans, the respectful guest from America and also the respectful host from Serbia tasted Serbian traditional dishes. A reporter of Montenegrin daily newspaper Dan says that the famous “The Pirate of the Caribbean” was particularly thrilled with Serbian domestic red wine, but in spite of all trying reporters did not succeed in learning who the producer of that Serbian brand was. The assumptions of the reporters were that the wine could be from the newly settled winery near Valjevo, where Kusturica stayed the previous summer by invited by the producer from there.

Winery Jelic discoveres that the mentioned wine was red wine Baby Mammoth Milijan Jelic 2006, Pinot Noir for which the very Kusturica said, while visiting the wine cellar, for the celebration “In honor of Valjevo vine”, that it was “smashing good wine”; it originated in the part of Europe “with the unique voice of soil and climate”, where Milijan Jelic awoke that on his own what had been abandoned and forgotten for decades.
